Commander Daube's Statement on the Passing of HB 1076

Indiana Legion expresses our disappointment with the passing of House Bill 1076. We believe that this legislation will have negative consequences for our state and its service members. We believe that the removal of the right to request a court martial in lieu of Article 15, nonjudicial punishment will only serve to hurt Indiana guardsmen. With the passing of this bill, we expect the Adjutant General to call a general court martial as often as necessary until this issue can be revisited during the next general session. We respect the decision of our state government and will continue to support and follow the guidance of the governor. We remain committed to advocating for all veterans.
