American Legion Riders Chapter 409 of Leo, Indiana divided up their 2021 fund raising efforts between three veterans programs and one community food bank.
ALR Chapter 409 Director Dan Richardson says that getting the word out about what the Riders do is important. "We're more than just a group of guys that rides motorcycles. ...We want to get the word out," said Richardson, who hopes that by sharing the photos the public will learn about The Legion Family's efforts to help community, state, and nation.
Chapter 409 presented the checks starting with a $900 dollar donation to the Harvest Food Bank of Fort Wayne and Allen County's Community Harvest's Hope for Heroes Program.
The chapter also donated $900 to the Associated Churches of Fort Wayne's Military Hardship Relief Program and another $900 to a homeless veteran's shelter in Fort Wayne called Safe Haven.
ALR Chapter 409 works with Grabill Food Bank throughout the year, and made their final donation to the food bank which helps the community that surrounds Post 409.
