Indiana Legion Service Officers are dedicated veterans who have personally navigated the challenges of military service and the transition to civilian life, making them uniquely qualified to assist fellow veterans. These experienced professionals provide critical support in securing benefits, filing claims, and accessing resources through the Department of Veterans Affairs. Their invaluable work is made possible through funding from grants and the Indiana American Legion Foundation, ensuring that veterans across Indiana receive the assistance they need at no cost. By leveraging their firsthand knowledge and unwavering commitment, Indiana Legion Service Officers play a vital role in advocating for and supporting those who have served our nation.
WHAT WE DO
Our department service officers are ready to assist you. Veterans don’t have to stand alone in the in their battle for benefits and medical care. DSO's help veterans and family members weed through the paperwork and bureaucracy of government in order to get the benefits and medical care deserved.
The American Legion department service officers provide free advice and guidance for veterans who need the services provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) regardless of whether or not they are members of The American Legion.
